Sitting in a parking lot earlier today, I was noticing the various non-local licence plates and what is and isn’t commonly seen in my area. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! got me to thinking about it again.
Here in Kamloops in the British Columbia Interior, by far the most common ones I see are Alberta, followed by Washington, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , Saskatchewan, Manitoba, California, Ontario, Quebec, Yukon, Idaho, and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (one virtual cookie for anyone who can guess, without cheating, why I see AZ & CT).
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen Massachusetts, though I’d probably assume it was Alberta and pay no attention. On the other hand, I have !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , plus wherever the hell !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is from.
So, what out-of State (or Province) plates do you guys normally see?

As someone who lives in Connecticut, I apologize for how boring our plates are.

I was in Seattle this weekend and I’m pretty sure the entire populace of Canada was also there. The streets were teeming with people wearing Blue Jays gear and Canadian flags, and at Safeco Field the Jays fans outnumbered the Mariner fans by quite a margin (because the Mariners suck, and I say that as a fan who went to two of the games). That meant the drive home was full of BC and Alberta plates. Normally I see mostly Idaho followed by Montana, BC, Alberta and an odd Oregon thrown in.

Most Canadian ones are fairly plain & simple, too. Besides, blue/white gradient FTW:

Most often Mass, PA, and Ontario, occasionally Quebec, Vermont, NH, CT, Maine, VA, WV, Texas, Colorado, Minnesota, Wisc, Alberta, Manitooba.

My parents were on one of the (likely many) Canadian tour buses at Safeco, but they’re M’s fans.

They showed one woman on the big screen that said something like “I’m from Canada but I’m a Mariners fan”. It got quite the reaction from the crowd. Here at home we mostly see Canadian plates in the Costco parking lot.

BC plates everywhere. Some select BCers flood down to the Marysville, WA, outlet malls. Also down through to Portland, because no sales tax.

Mariners really suck. I can feel myself aging quicky watching this team.

We went to the game Felix pitched Friday and the one Happ pitched on Saturday. The Friday one, after a couple of first inning defensive mistakes, was pretty enjoyable. The one Saturday? Well, it involved Fernando Rodney. Enough said.

Does it count if I live on an interprovincial boundary? By far the most common is Quebec. Followed by New Brunswick, followed by New York although there are not a lot of us plates up here.
Also...I am going to Prince George soon. Hooray!

He’s lost us so many games that even his horrible numbers are generous. They don’t reflect how many times he’s blown leads in what were technically nonsave sitatuons. He can’t go one inning without at least allowing a run. His box score is always: 1IP 2H 2ER 2BB 1SO, 500000 pitches.
Sorry. Just venting

Right there with you. Even last year when he racked up all of those saves he never had clean innings. There was always somebody on base and often a couple of guys. I’ve never been a fan.

That’s the thing about Lloyd though... if you massage his genitals, he will stand by you to the point of insanity.

Arizona is the Liberia of commercial vehicle registration (Oregon is the Liberia of personally-owned RV registrations, IIRC). I have no clue on CT, though. Maybe they’re the closest equivalent in the northeast?

In Edmonton, it’s mostly BC, SK, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Washington, and sometimes Northwest Territories or Yukon, also rarely Nova Scotia, PEI, or New Brunswick.

Vancouver here. It’s mostly Washington and Alberta, folowed closely by the occasional California, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario and U-Haul ‘from’ Arizona. I’ve seen those German-plated RVs too, though the ratio is half Euro-style Class C’s and half current-gen Eurovans (i.e. the T5).
Apart from those, there was one lifted H2 with Italian plates and literally ALL the stick-on chrome bits, plus this Dutch E39 that I’ve seen a couple times now:

Canada has only two major railroads, and each has a coast-to-coast main line. There’s only a few cities that both main lines go through, and mine is one of them. I also live a couple of blocks from heavy duty truck shop that services hy-rail trucks .
This is my long way of saying that I often see Sperry Rail Service trucks from Danbury, CT.

Here in Montreal we see a lot of US plates, the most common are Vermont, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts. We get a lot of Ontario plates as well, as well as a good number of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia plates.
None of this should be surprising if you know basic geography...

Here in Houston it’s almost all Texas, with the occasional Louisiana. Though I have seen both Alaska and Hawaii in my building’s parking lot.
